How many times have you delayed moving forward on a project because you’re waiting for it to be perfect?
Up until now, I have delayed the launch of my new website because I felt it wasn’t ready, so I spent additional time on it making minor improvements. Finally, I came to the realization that much of this extra time was wasted-the truth is I wanted to avoid some uncomfortable feelings of vulnerability and even possible rejection.
If my internal struggle with perfectionism feels familiar to you, it is because it is a common issue in business today. This is certainly not a new issue. Many have struggled with it over the centuries:
Voltaire, the French writer, said, “The best is the enemy of the good.” Confucius said, “Better a diamond with a flaw than a pebble without.” And there’s Shakespeare: “Striving to better, oft we mar what’s well.”
We all have our stories of personal challenges and the growth that comes from facing our mistakes and learning from them. In my coaching practice, I have found that taking steps to lessen the fear of failing can lead to a renewed willingness to take risks, discover new ways of doing things and achieve more as a result.
Now I am thrilled to announce the launch of my new website at ExecAchievement.com. Here, you can consider what others have achieved by working with a professional coach, how they have decided to stretch themselves beyond their comfort zone to enhance their influence and build more successful careers. I have also included a description of my unique approach to coaching, some cherished testimonials from past clients, and additional success stories.
While you are reviewing the website, be sure to look for my free Guide to Building Greater Influence and Impact at Work.
